Effective 8 August 2026

Privacy policy

This eighteen-section policy describes the exact behaviour of Pitchfold South for Android. The same canonical text is bundled inside the installed app.

Plain-language summary

Private by design, bounded by behaviour.

Pitchfold South works entirely on the device. It does not request Internet access, create accounts, transmit personal data, show advertising, run analytics, or store participant identities. Bounded choices and checklist states remain only in the app's private storage until reset, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.

Website hosting is separate

This policy governs the installed Android app. This static public site has no form, account, advertising, analytics or third-party script; its hosting provider may still process connection data needed to deliver the pages under the provider's own terms.

01

Responsible entity and scope

This policy explains the privacy practices of Pitchfold South for Android, provided for Balclutha Association Football Club Incorporated at Glasgow Street, Balclutha 9230, New Zealand. It applies only to the installed app and its on-device features. It does not govern separate websites, football competitions, governing bodies, venues, email providers, emergency services, or other third-party services. Effective date: 8 August 2026.

02

Intended audience and adult responsibility

Pitchfold South is designed for adults preparing or supporting community-football activities. It is not directed to children and does not offer child accounts, profiles, messaging, registration, social features, or behavioural tracking. If an adult uses an educational prompt while supervising younger participants, that adult remains responsible for consent, safeguarding, suitability, supervision, venue rules, and the requirements of the relevant club and governing body.

03

App purpose and functions

The app provides a Session Ribbon, Shape Lens, Pattern Mosaic, Condition Fork, Sideline Relay, Kit Loop, Reflection Facets, Safety Gate, Source Desk, and Privacy Centre. These are general educational and preparation tools. They are not live club administration, official fixtures, team selection, certification, medical assessment, emergency response, or a substitute for authorised football, safeguarding, venue, or professional decisions.

04

Data collected, transmitted, and not collected

The app does not collect or transmit personal data to the responsible entity, a developer server, or a third party. It does not collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, account identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise or approximate location, contacts, photographs, audio, files, payment information, health information, or device telemetry. No server endpoint is used.

Back to index
05

On-device preferences and session state

The app may store bounded local values such as selected session blocks, the chosen Shape Lens or condition, checklist completion bits, reflection scale values, reduced-motion preference, and whether introductory guidance has been viewed. These values are not intended to identify a person and remain in the app's private storage on the device. They are used only to restore the user's own fieldbook state.

06

Sensitive records, youth records, and free text

Pitchfold South does not provide fields for participant names, rosters, attendance, scores, injuries, medical notes, incident reports, identity documents, precise locations, youth records, or other free-text notes. Users should not attempt to encode sensitive information into the available bounded controls. The app is not a recordkeeping system for players or safeguarding matters.

07

Permissions

The app does not request Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, notification, Bluetooth, health, phone, photo, media, or broad storage permissions. Android may expose basic operating-system functions that every installed app needs to run, but Pitchfold South does not use them to obtain personal information or communicate off the device.

08

Accounts, login, and account deletion

The app has no account system, login, membership portal, cloud identity, or server-side user record. Account deletion is therefore not applicable. The local reset control can clear the app's stored choices at any time. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app also removes its local state. This does not cancel any separate club registration or third-party account.

09

Advertising, analytics, tracking, and SDKs

Pitchfold South contains no advertising, ad attribution, analytics, behavioural tracking, profiling, telemetry, remote configuration, social-media SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or third-party software development kit. It does not use an advertising identifier or build an audience profile. The release is designed around Android platform components and bundled app resources.

10

Sharing, disclosure, and sale

Because the app does not transmit personal data, it does not share, disclose, rent, or sell personal data. On-device choices are not sent to the responsible entity, coaches, other participants, advertisers, data brokers, or service providers. A person who independently shows their screen to someone else controls that voluntary, in-person disclosure.

Back to index
11

Network behaviour, external links, and contact actions

The installed app does not have Internet permission, make network requests, open live fixtures, submit forms, send email, place calls, export files, or automatically open external links. Source addresses are displayed only as reference text. The separately hosted public support site is outside the installed app and is governed by the site's own hosting and connection context.

12

Retention

Bounded selections and checklist states remain in private app storage until the user resets them, clears the app's storage, or uninstalls the app. The app does not keep a server copy, remote archive, activity history, or deletion queue. Because there is no transmitted personal data, the responsible entity has no app-user database from which to retrieve or delete a record.

13

Deletion, backup, restore, and device transfer

Users can select Reset all local choices in About to erase saved fieldbook state. Android app-data clearing and uninstalling provide additional deletion methods. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for this app, so its private preferences are excluded from the app's Android backup configuration. A device platform or administrator may still maintain system-level artefacts outside the app's control.

14

Security and security limits

Local values are kept in the app-specific storage area provided by Android, and other ordinary apps cannot access that area without operating-system privileges. The app minimises risk by avoiding accounts, network transmission, personal records, and third-party SDKs. No device or software can be guaranteed absolutely secure; users should protect device access, install trusted system updates, and use device security controls.

15

Children, families, and safeguarding

The app is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children. It has no chat, public profiles, follower features, photo sharing, location sharing, or direct contact between adults and children. Adults using general prompts around younger participants must follow applicable consent, safeguarding, supervision, transport, photography, communication, and reporting procedures. Urgent safeguarding concerns should use authorised local channels, not this app.

16

Sports, health, weather, and safety limitations

Content is general educational information, not medical, physiotherapy, concussion, diagnosis, rehabilitation, return-to-play, weather, legal, refereeing, or emergency advice. The app does not detect injury, lightning, ground safety, visibility, goal stability, or emergency conditions. Stop activity and obtain appropriate help for an unsafe surface, unsecured equipment, severe weather, inadequate visibility, uncontrolled vehicle access, suspected injury, or immediate danger. In New Zealand, call 111 for an emergency.

17

User choices and policy changes

Users may choose whether to save bounded selections, can change them at any time, and can reset all local choices. The policy may be revised when app behaviour, legal requirements, or responsible-entity details change. A revised policy will show a new effective date in the app and on the public privacy page. Material changes should be reviewed before an updated release is distributed.
